I have a Hotpoint model HDA3540N10SA. It will run the wash but will not drain. I cleaned the tub, checked the drain tub, checked and cleaned the impeller, replaced a overheated seleniod which was welded solid due to overheating, drain flapper works , (cleaned no debri) checked the line to the garbage disposal clean (disposal also clean). Indicators are pointing toward a timer switch of some type. Would that be my problem? If so which part# or Item number would it be? Where is it located? In the door?
You will want to check for power to the pump when the unit is set to drain. If there is no power then check your wiring back to the timer for loose or broken wires or connections. If the wiring checks ok then you would replace the timer. If there is power to the pump and it is not pumping water out and there is no clog then you would need to replace the pump. To replace the timer you would have to remove the inner panel of the door.
