My dishwasher started up fine then halfway through the first cycle it stopped. Upon opening the door there was a few inches of water in the bottom of the tub. I checked the power source & breaker. I tried to restart the dishwasher & nothing. Could this be the timer?
ANSWER Hello Mark,
If you have already checked the power connection behind the kick panel and there were no burned or discolored wire nuts and the wires were tight in them, the next suspect would be the door switch and switch activation mechanism. If I remember correctly, this model has a flat metal piece referred to as a "leaf" that may not be activating the switch. If the unit isn't secured under the counter or leveled so the door strikes properly, this can have a major impact on the door switch activation. Also, while inside the door panel, note as to whether or not there is moisture present. If there is, the switch and/or timer may have problems. As a general rule, check for voltage into a component and voltage back out of the component. When you find a component that the voltage goes into and not back out of, you have located the faulty component.
