All lights and fan went off, however there was still electricity and the transformer was very hot. What should I do?

Joseph F for Model Number ZV850SB -- GE Monogram 36" Stainless Steel Island Vent Hood

ANSWER Joseph, You will want to check to make sure that voltage is going through the transformer. If the transformer is getting 120 vac in then it should be getting 12 vdc out. If it is not then the transformer is bad and will need to be replaced. If it checks ok then check the thermal fuse to make sure that it has continuity. If no continuity then replace the fuse. If it does have continuity then replace control board.
