My GE Profile washer does not agitate when there are clothes in the washer. It DOES agitate when there is just water and no clothes.
I have already replaced the agitator coupling kit. It did not solve the problem. Washer still does not agitate when there are clothes.
As far as I can tell the motor is working and the belt is not slipping (but what do I know - this is my first washer repair). I am thinking that it must be the transmission. Not sure if I want to sink $180 into a new transmission to find out though.
Can you suggest which repair you think is needed?
ANSWER Hello Kevin H. If the belt is good on the unit, you will need to order and replace the transmission on the unit. Since you already replaced the coupling on the unit.
