Put a new safety valve in oven. Turned oven on, worked like it supposed to, except when turned it off it would not go out had to unplug it from the wall. Plug it back into outlet and oven came on in off position. Unplug waited 5 min or so and it worked like it supposed to then it done it again had to unplug it from the wall to get it out. With the oven control knob in the off position is there to be voltage on wire going to safety valve? Also cannot get flame controlled its so high it comes up into the oven.

Dale for Model Number RGB528GET1WH Hot Point Gass Stove

ANSWER Hello Dale. Based on the information you provided, you will need to replace the thermostat WB20K8. The contacts are stuck inside it. Also, if you use LP gas, you will need to change the orifice on the safety valve WB19K13. Hope this helps.
