Hello, I have just received a used GE 22 QFMAWW side by side refrigerator. It is working fine except the water and ice part. When I push the water lever on the door, there is a hose under the refrigerator that squirts out all the water. It never makes it to the door. I followed the tubing and it goes into the fridge behind the compartment trays in this clear plastic box, from there it goes out of the box into a tube that goes into the control valve RIV-12AE on the right side. On the left side of the control valve there is a black tube that goes to the ice maker side. The inlet goes to the the water filter, then back to the main pipe. When I tested the valve and pushed the water button water sprays out of the right side, nothing comes out of the black side. My question is my valve defective, and why would there be a tube under the fridge that sprays out the water that should be coming out of the dispenser. Thank you so much for your help, Paul.
ANSWER Hello Paul. No, it sounds like you have something in the unit that is not hooked up properly. Re-check the lines and see if one is missing or is not hooked together or cut. If it leaks out of the side of the valve, you will need to replace the water valve WR57X10023. Hope this helps. Hope this helps.
