As a follow up to my original question, is there a molded hole that is part of the construction of the pump? Is it supposed to remain open? What is the hole for? If I plug the hole to stop the water leak, do I risk additonal damage to the pump and other parts?
Tom
ANSWER Hello Tom. It could damage the pump if you try to seal the hole, and the drain pipe as well. If the seal hold for a few cycles, and then does not, you may damage more than the washer, could have some water damage to the home. It is best to replace the pump assembly WH23X42. Hope this helps.
