We purchased a home with a refrigerator which has a front dispenser. However, we don't see a filter inside the refrigerator/freezer or on the back of the unit. The mechanisms all appear to be operational but the water is yellow and so the ice cubes are yellow. The water from the front dispenser is of course not drinkable either. Does this model have a replaceable filter. If so, is it cost efficient. In a few years we will probably replace it, but until then it would be great to have the use of the front water and ice dispenser.
ANSWER Hi Theresa. I have looked up your model # and There is not a factory installed water filter. Over the years, build up such as calcium deposits will turn the inside of your water tank a yellowish color. It is advisable that you have someone change the water tank and install a accessible / removable water filter that you can change yearly. The water tank part # is WR17X2132. the in line water filter kit is part #AP717. You will also need to install water line installation kit part # TJ9CIMKIT20.Hope this helps. Thank - you.
