My washer has a problem when agitating. It agitates clockwise but not counter-clockwise. It spins fine counter-clockwise when there is no water on the clothes at the beginning of the cycle, when the washer is determining the weight of the load. But during the cycle and water present it agitates fine clockwise, but makes a bad sound as it tries to agitate counter-clockwise. The sound is similar to a bad bearing sound on a wheel. But would it spin fine one way but not the other due to a bad bearing?

ANSWER Hi. Before we say you have a rotor position sensor part # 6501KW2002A issue, you need to find the diagnostic sheet inside the unit. It will be advantageous to find the supplied tech sheet inside the cabinet to aid you in the diagnosis. It allows you to put the unit in a diagnostic mode which brings up fault codes and tells you which circuit needs assistance. If it makes a bad sound then try to isolate and find out which part is bad by listening to the motor or the rear tub bearing part # AJQ35154206. If in spin the unit does not sound like a jet but instead It sounds like a train then you do have a bad outer tub bearing and the inner tub spider shaft part # 4434ER0002D. Thank you.
