Washer doesn't drain and stays stuck at that point in cycle. Pump sounds like its turning (or at least its not silent). I'm guessing if I need a pump the correct part is AP5328388. Please confirm. Also, there was a nail in the housing and the back end of the housing (the pump end) has a hole in it which may be normal, but the hole is not round. Its sort of egg shaped. I'm wondering if the nail damaged the housing and this is the only problem (if sound indicates pump still working but can't drain effectively) or should I order both pump and housing (part # AP4437633). Pump motor turns freely by hand.
ANSWER Hello Nat,
You need to replace the drain pump 4681EA2001T. I have seen this before and what I believe has happened is that the pump was spinning when the object hit the pump impeller. This separates the plastic impeller from the stainless steel pump motor shaft.
