I cannot get the replacement water filter to "lock in." It's the right filter - Original LG part # 5231JA2006B. It seems like it should go in just a bit further - where I'd feel the O-rings seat - and then twist to lock in. As it is, it won't rotate or lock in place. Jiggling around has been unsuccessful, as has O-ring/locking tab lubrication (with chapstick). If I slide the cartridge into the housing with the thumb-turn feature on the end of the cartridge in a horizontal orientation, it stops with about 1/2" of the cartridge body sticking out beyond the housing. When I rotate the cartridge so the thumb-turn feature is vertical, it goes in about half-way - leaving about 1/4" of the cartridge main tube exposed at the end of the housing.
Visual inspection of receiving part still installed in unit shows no visible damage or irregularity.
Is there some trick, a test, a possibility of a defective cartridge or?? Or should I just pull the receiver out for a better look?
Thanks!!!
