Dryer runs and heats when first started, then heat quits. I have run this with the front panel off to observe the gas system. The Igniter glows, but the flame does not start. I checked the resistance of the coils. Both read over 1900 ohms. Service Manual says to replace the valve when readings fare between 1500 - 2500 ohms. I have checked the other components associated with this circuit, and all seem okay. I checked the voltage on these coils when gas valve should be opened. Reads around 50 VAC. I assume I need to replace the gas valve, but I want to know if the coils are available as replacement parts, since the valve itself seems okay.
ANSWER Hello Phil. No, based on the readings you got, you will need to replace the gas valve 5221EL2002A in the unit. The coils are not listed separate. Hope this helps.
