Okay, so I think I know the answer, but I just want to confirm what is wrong with my dryer. The dryer wouldn't heat up, so I pulled the front off and left it assembled. I've replaced the Hi-Limit thermostat and the thermostat assembly. I re-asssembled only to find problem not solved. The ignitor heats up and glows bright orange to white, the gas ignites and then shuts off after 5 to 10 seconds. I hear a click when that happens. If I leave the dryer running, it will cycle the same thing after 30 seconds to a minute, the ignitor glows again and the gas lights up, but then shuts off after 5 to 10 seconds again with the click noise. Do I have a bad gas valve assembly or something else?
You are on the right track. The gas valves are defective and you will need to replace the gas burner valve assembly 5221EL2002A.
