Note: This question is for the older version of this part, but we thought you might still find it helpful
I have a jammed icemaker on my Kenmore (LG) french door refrigerator and I want to make sure I can remove it before I order a new one.
First I removed four screws and the icemaker dropped free but is still connected by it's wiring harness. The plug, however, is behind a plastic panel that seems to be part of the inner door.
I removed three larger screws (screws with larger heads) and now the panel is loose and I can get to the connector.
My remaining question is how to release the retaining clamps on the connector without destroying them in the learning process. Is it the two plastic tabs on the side that I have to deal with or is it the one in the center top area?
So far you are doing good. The center top is the one that would need to be released.
