At first I noticed pieces of styrofoam in my ice. I removed the ice maker. I found the tray broken and a small part of the frame also broken. The part that holds the tray on the round shaft end. My question is in two parts. 1 the part # on my ice maker is 5988JA1001H. Will part # 5989JA1005D replace the one I have? They both look the same. 2 Does the ice maker kit come with the styrofoam? If not can I purchase this item?

ANSWER Hello Jerry,
The only styrofoam that should be on the icemaker would be what the thermistor is in. The icemaker 5988JA1001H is just the mechanical part of the icemaker. The icemaker 5989JA1005D is the complete icemaker assembly.
