My microwave starts running when you open the door. I have heard that this could be a primary or secondary switch. Do I need to remove the entire microwave case to get at this or can the door and front faceplate be removed alone? I see no screws. Does the control panel just pop off? Also, I see there is something called a latchbox? Does this latchbox include the primary and secondary switches? If so, wouldn't it be just as easy to replace the whole latchbox?

ANSWER Hi. The secondary switch part # 3B73362F needs replaced. When you remove the top vent grill, remove the top plate above the control panel. Than remove the control panel top screw. Lift up on the control panel and note all wire connections so they are reconnected back correctly. Lay the controls aside. Look in and to the left you remove the 2 - inner door latch screws that holds the latch assy. w/ switches. Then you have access to the switches explained in the wiring diagram in the control board folded up. Thank You.
