I replaced the duct fan that serves cold air to the ice maker recently but now I have noticed it never shuts off. Therefore when the freezer goes into defrost mode, the ice melts slightly and then refreezes afterward in clumps. I have checked the thermostat in the ice maker with an ohm meter and it seems to functioning correctly. Any idea what might be causing this?
If the ice fan is not shutting off during the defrost then the main control board is not cutting power to the ice fan and would need to be replaced.
