Code is OE. Dishwasher has a self-cleaning filter, which we cleaned anyway and checked the drain hose. The water still will not drain. Do we need a new drain pump motor and if so what is the correct part number?
ANSWER Hello Debbie,
This is the fault code for a restricted drain. I would pull the drain line from under the sink and put it in a bucket. If it drains into the bucket, the issue is at the drain under the sink. If it doesn't you could have a piece of debris in the pump or the pump can just be bad. If the pump checks out OK, there is one other possibility. The problem may not necessarily be a blocked drain hose or the drain pump. It could be the thermostat micro switch. This thermostat is located at the rear of the right bottom side of the dishwasher (held by an oval nylon plastic housing). Turn the power to the unit off and remove the right side panel. Locate oval nylon/plastic shaped thingy and the micro switch is in the middle (3 wire connectors in 1 block) thermostat is 2 connectors, (1 is on each side of the micro switch). Use a screwdriver to push the thermostat back into the nylon housing on both sides (it can work its' way out a bit over time and can stop the micro switch from working).
