When reassembling the inner stainless drum to the outer drum (after a new Spider was installed), does the shaft on the new spider need any added lubricant where it meets the rubber Seal to stop possible water leakage or are the parts good to go out of the box?
ANSWER Hello Steve,
I normally put a bit of lubricant, but you have to be very careful not to get any on the inside where it can contact any clothing. It takes a long time to flush it out so to prevent staining any material, be very cautious. If any is applied, it has to be outside of the seal so it isn't inside the wash compartment.
