I just placed an order for 2 Hinge Springs #4970ED4004G along with the accompanying Hinge Cables. I just decided to go ahead and replace all of the suspect parts [my door got really heavy!!!] rather than pull out the Dishwasher so that I could see which part failed, put it back so I could use it while awaiting the parts, then doing the same thing over again. Plus you recommend replacing both sides, which I agree with.
When I pull out the DW, does it have to come out all the way so that I can remove both side panels fully, or can I "cheat" and just loosen the front panel screws without causing myself problems?
You would need to pull the unit all the way out in order to remove the panels to replace the hinges.
