I needed to replace the relay start and overload protector on my LG refrigerator. When ordering the replacement part I was told that I needed part # EBG31940225 which is the thermistor assembly. I got the new part but it looks nothing like the part that I took off the fridge (relay start, capacitor and the overload protector). The new part has the PTC assembly and the overload protector connected to 3 wires (black, blue, pink)on one end and the other end plugs into the fridge. There is also a green wire (ground wire) which is not connected to anything. The old part only has the black and blue wires and the same end piece that plugs into the fridge. The end piece of the new part (that plugs into fridge, I think it's called a butt connector?)has 2 male parts and one female part. The female part which is the pink wire does not have a male end to connect to or make contact with inside the refrigerator. I tried the new part but there was no change (the air that blows in is not cold). The original issue is that the fridge just stopped getting cold, everything else is working properly though.
Can anyone assist me with this? I have been assured that I got the correct part for my model.
Or does anyone know where I can get instructions on installing this part?
ANSWER Hi Kristen. The start relay P.T.C is part # 6748C-0004D. The overload is part # 6750C-0004R. I believe all these parts in combination will be the ones you need. Thank You.
