I am replacing the thermostat (thermal fuse) on this range and am not sure how to remove the old one and install the new one (still waiting for it to arrive) without doing any damage. Does it screw in, clip in, or am I supposed to bend the tabs back that hold it in? I couldn't find anything in the Service Manual for this procedure, just that I should replace it. I'm bridging the connectors so I could establish continuity and use the cooktop for now, but it's probably not a great solution. This is my 2nd time asking this question, hope somebody at APP has time to answer. You have given me great service in the past!
ANSWER Hi Debbie. Did you get our response earlier today? Usually the oven will pop open after a clean cycle. The service manual does not say anything about changing procedures, but it is usually straightforward with either 1/4" bolts or bendable tabs, even phillips screws. The thermostat should be restocked whin 5-7 buissness day. Sorry about any inconveniences. Thank you.
