I replaced the outer tub and support(spider) and reinstalled the original stator and rotor. The old tub had the metal bracket and the tub didn't. I now read that a new stator and rotor should have been installed with the new bracket-less tub. Some say to replace them, other's say they're not needed. So, don't know which to do. There is a big difference in the cost between the two options.
Also, every wash that we now do, large or small is really out of balance. This was never an issue before. I have leveled the machine three different times but it is still out of balance enough to shut off. I checked the supports (shocks ) and everything looks normal. Can the stator or rotor be causing this? This machine is 7 years old and has been great until now.

ANSWER Dennis, Per the manufacturers technical information, Yes, you will need to repalce the stator and rotor. You will also want to re check the tub installation, make sure the hoses, "boot" and wiring harness are properly routed and installed, and the mounting bolts and spinner bolt are properly installed, seated and torqued properly.
