Water appears to be coming into our ice maker continuously this past week such that it is overflowing the ice maker unit in the freezer. If I purchase a new water valve - looks like it might be part #LG AP4441126, does that regulate the flow of water into the back of the ice maker so that it stops sending in water when the ice maker is full? Also, would I just need a water valve or a whole assembly?
ANSWER Hi Patrica. The ice maker "tells'' the water valve when to send water from the water valve. Also make sure your water line at the back of the fridge is not kinked. The ice maker part # is AEQ57518201. Thank you.
