My icemaker is no longer working. The LG is only 2 years old. Water is getting to the valve assembly, but not to the icemaker. Would this require a new valve assembly, or is there another component (thermostat?) which may be defective? There is no ice blockage, but water does not flow into the ice tray.
ANSWER Hello Greg,
This can be a bad water inlet valve or a bad icemaker assembly. You can force the icemaker to cycle and check for voltage to the water valve at the valves' harness. If no voltage shows up, the icemaker has bad points internally and the icemaker assembly 5989JA0002Y will require replacement. If the voltage shows up for the seven seconds that it takes for the icemaker to properly fill, the water inlet valve AJU55759303 will require replacement.
