Good morning, I have a Kenmore Elite Fridge Model # 79571059010. Unit stopped making ice (the water dispenser works fine). I could occasionally get it to cycle, so I went ahead and replaced the ice maker with p/n AEQ73110205. Replacement was quick. Allowed 24 hours and again no new ice. I cycled it and water filled it. Again it did not dump or make any additional ice later that day. I was then advised to replace the valve assembly p/n AJU7992601. I replaced it last night. It has not been 24 hours and again no additional ice was made or dumped. On a side note, I removed the water filter (bought some new ones a few months ago) and replaced it with the bypass cartridge to help troubleshoot. I also vacuumed out the back coil area and fan area. Someone mentioned it takes 24 hours for it to truly cycle and start making ice and repeating the process. Any thoughts and help is appreciated. Thanks! Jason

ANSWER Jason, Normally it will not take 24 hours to start making ice. If you can hit the test button and cycle the icemaker then the issue sounds like a faulty thermistor on the bottom of the icemaker in which the icemaker would need to be replaced again. You will also want to check to make sure that there is adequate cold air getting into the ice compartment to get the thermistor to the proper temp. If the air flow is adequate and cold enough then the icemaker would be recommended.
