Ice maker doesn't work. Water supply is being fed to the water valve and cube size lites work. How do I troubleshoot the water valve and ice-maker? Thanks
ANSWER Hi Ken. The water valve will ohm out between 18-35 ohms, just as so it is not open or shorted. Does the ice maker send the 120 vac when calling for water? Set the meter -up so you can quickly peek for the 6-seconds of command. If you do not get the 120 vac, then replace the ice maker part # 5989JA0002U. If you do , then the water should travel up the fill tube into the back and into the ice-maker. Make sure the ice- maker fill tube is not frozen completely. If it is ,this needs to be twisted and removed. Flush with warm water and completely dry w/ hair dryer if needed. This is a definite sign the water valve needs replaced. Water valve part # 5220JA2009D. Thank You.
