I am having trouble getting my inner tub out in order to replace my agitator gasket. For the last three years the house we lived in had well water, so it may have corroded things together a bit. Do I possibly need a spanner wrench to remove the inner tub? Or do I need to keep applying liquid wrench to the agitator, and pray I'll eventually get it to let go?
ANSWER Josh, You'll need to remove the agitator first, have you removed the 1/4 inch hex head screw from the side of the agitator 285999 ? and you still cant lift it off the shaft ? you may have to cut or break it off, if that's the case. Your washer doesn't have a "spanner" nut or drive block, it has a drive hub 285709, but you'll have to get the agitator off first.
