Finally found the defrost heater for he refrigerator. With my small digital Meter, resistance set to 200 scale, I get nothing. No continuity. Its not defrosting and I have replaced the PCB thinking it was the timer.
Now, my heater is shaped different than the one in the exploded view...and is made with self sticky on one side to hold it in position. Are they all made like that? thanks in advance
ANSWER Donald, Yes, there should be a resistance reading between the heater terminal, regardless of temperature. Sounds like you got an open circuit on the heater. To the best of my knowledge, you will need to order the evaporator assembly DA96-00021N in order to get the heater resistance wire. Most people switch the heater wire from the new evaporator to the original evaporator, instaeed of doing a sealed system repair. Good Luck.
