My 4 door refrigerator is having freezing issues on the large freezer section. The temp only goes to 15 degrees and the ice maker will not fucntion on its own. The lower Freezer section is @ -12 degrees and works fine. The question is, which board controls the function of the failing performance section (is it the Board?) or what else could it be? Having trouble getting the NISI folks to respond so I have another Service organization to assist if necessary. Please help me select the correct fix (product).
ANSWER Hello Butch,
It sounds as if though your evaporator fan motor DA31-00146E is not working. To check this you would want to access the main control board. Using a multi-meter you would want to find connector CN74 pins 3(black) and 7(gray) and put meter leads on them. You will be looking for approximately 9VDC. If you get 3 seconds of power up voltage every 10 seconds for 5 fan power up cycles then the control board DA41-00359C is good. If you also get this you want to check fan for obstructions. Fan is behind freezer wall. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
