The fridge is not cooling, though the fan is running. I'm pretty sure the defrost is not working properly and has frozen over. I'm thawing about to start thawing it out, but would like to know which parts I should be looking at to make sure this doesn't happen again in the future.
The fridge has worked perfectly for 9 years now, never a hitch. We just moved (on a hot day), and plugged in the fridge. It cooled down and worked perfectly for a while, but now it's just not cooling down. Current temp is 51 degrees. Freezer side is unaffected.
Any help appreciated.
ANSWER Hi. If there is frost build up on the back wall then you need check that the defrost thermostat is closed when in frozen states. If not then you need to replace the defrost thermostat part # DA47-10160H. The sensors should ohm out to 5.5k ohms @ room temperature. The sensor part # DA32-00006W. The upper sensor is part # TJDA32-10109W. Ohm the heater part # DA96-00020Q for resistance and not an open or shorted issue. You have to buy the evaporator /heater in an assy. This is the only way the manufacturer allows purchase of the heater assy. Unclasp it from the evaporator assy. if needed. If all theses ohm good then replace the main board part # DA41-00134F. Thank You.
