If everything else is working but the agitator isnt turning, do u need an agitator kit or a new agitator to repair it? Can it be a DIY job or need an expert to fix.
ANSWER Hello Dianne! You will need to take the agitator off. You can do this by pulling off the top cap and unscrewing the agitator bolt down in the center of the agitator. This will allow the agitator to pull completely off. Under the agitator in the center there will be "teeth" that catch the transmission, if those are stripped, then you will need to replace the agitator only part number 3946501. If it is only the top half of the agitator that is not working, you can purchase the agitator repair kit, part number 285811, to correct the issue. However, if the teeth are still there and the entire agitator is not working, you will be looking at a more tougher job such as a transmission. See if this information helps. Post any further questions, we will be glad to help!
