My whirlpool portable washer will agitate during wash cycle, but it will not stay spinning during the spin cycle. It will start to spin, then wobble a bit and stop over and over. Then it will not spin at all. It did have a small leak underneath prior to this happening ? Any solution?

ANSWER Hi Steve. The first thing to do is to remove the power and find the leak. Use a flashlight and look at the tub seal/bearing part # 3968381 at the bottom center where the transmission shaft enters the tub. If there is any brown nasty water throw off there and all the bottom half of the inner cabinet Then you know this is a issue. Then look at the pump part # 285948 to see if it is leaking. Is it the tub -to -pump hose (Sump hose) leaking part # 3429900. The drain hose is part # 3430161. The corrugated hose will flex and may eventually leak. There is a overflow hose that goes up the back of the tub part # 3966238. Check the water valve part # 3967755 also. There are 2- different type of suspension rods. One that is bowed is part # 3935137. You will need 2 of them. The straight ones are part # 3935136. You will need 2 of them also. You will need to lift the top up to get to these parts. also at the top of the tub at each corner there are rubber straps part # 3967051. These tend to break and give you an out of balance and then the board will shut down on purpose. Thank You.
