I have to replace the auger/agitator (MFG. PART# 22003455) on my Maytag machine. Will you please help with directions to do this?

ANSWER Hello Aimee! To remove the agitator you will need to remove the set screw holding the agitator in place and pull up on the agitator. The agitator is seured to the agitator drive shaft w/ a 1/4" hex head screw in the barrel of the agitator into the groove of the agitator shaft. Before attempting to pull the agitator, loosen that screw. When replacing the agtiator be sure to push down until it bottoms before retightening the screw. Be sure the set screw is replaced and securely tightened when the agitator is replaced. Thanks.
