For some reason this washer will work fair then it will just stop. The agitaror nor the spin seems to work as fast as they should. Often times it will leave several inches of water in the tub. What might the problem be? Thanks
ANSWER Hi William. Remove the fabric softener cup. Look inside the agitator and you will see inner teeth where 4 - separate "dogs" fly out and engage the teeth. Gripping all 4 dogs together systematically to agitate. These agitator dogs are approx. 3/8" thick. The outer dog teeth will strip out and not engage the inner agitator teeth. This is a normal failure. If this is your case, then you will need to replace them with part # 285748. Now look beneath the unit. There is a motor coupler that goes in between the transmission and the motor assy. If you see any black rubber dust under the transmission, you need to replace it by removing the pump and motor. Pry off the pieces off the motor shaft and transmission shaft. Reinstalling the new coupler kit part # 285753A. This will also fail after the unit ages considerably. Thank You.
