I have just replaced dog ears on my machine but it does not agitate or spin. I checked lid switch and there is a clicking sound when lid is lowered.
Machine fills with water and drains but there is no agitate or spin...everything else seems to be working fine. I am wondering if not the lid switch, what next? Could it be the Heavy Duty Washer Motor Coupling (AP3961972) since it won't spin or agitate...where the coupling is fitted in between the motor and gear case and drives the agitator and tub? I really appreciate all help/input! Thank You! (Hopefully not too hard for THIS female to do!)

ANSWER Hello Lou. That is the motor coupling 285852A. If the motor is running, but the tub or agitator does not move, it could be broke. You can lean the washer backwards and check and see if the motor coupling is broke. If so, here is a link tot he repair forum to help you with the repair. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/washer-repair/166471-kenmore-washer-80-series.html
