We have a 1960's GE JKSO6OO3AD and it's a not so lovely almond color. We want to paint the exterior door cover white. How do I know what the original paint is made of, such as enamel, porcelain, or???
The surface is in excellent condition, and a new color would be wonderful. I don't want to ruin the door! Replacement door covers, or re finishing the current door would be my main choices. Any help or direction you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

The door paint would be a Hi temperature enameled paint. To paint you would want to take the door apart and sand it down. Use a primer for appliances and an enameled paint to repaint.
