Where can I get a replacement bearing for the tub without having to buy the whole outer tub?
ANSWER Hello Carlos,
The bearing, outer tub seal and tub are sold as an assembly W10253866 for a reason. You see, if the bearing isn't installed exactly straight, the spinner support shaft rides at an angle which destroys the tub seal in just a few loads. When the seal is destroyed, the detergent water leak from the wash tub goes directly into the spin bearing. This washes the lubrication out of the bearing, causing it to fail pre-maturely. The manufacturer uses a special "jig" at the factory to properly install the bearing and seal assemblies into the outer tub to prevent this from occurring. When the design first came out, the bearing and seal were available individually. Trained technicians in the field had such a high failure rate that the tub assembly with the seal and bearings pre-installed was made the only way to get the parts. I don't know of any way to get the bearing only for this reason since the individual parts have been eliminated from availability by the manufacturer.
