I am trying to get to the seal at the transmission shaft. The machine appears to be leaking profusely from the main shaft.Do you have a maintenance manual that shows the order of assembly? I have the agitator out and tried to remove the 4 bolts in the bottom of the tub assembly. I broke the first one that I tried. I am reluctant to try any more until I can determine why it broke; ie is it a part of the tub sub-assembly? or?
ANSWER Charles, If your washer is leaking oil from the output shaft, you will need to replace the transmission assembly, and associated parts W10219148 W10116791 and a couple of special tools to remove and install the parts. As for the broken tub bolt, it is not uncommon to snap off the tub mount bolt, especially on an older unit, but you will recieve new bolts with the new tub bearing and seal kit. Thanks and Good Luck
