I want to replace the Main Control Board #10367783 on a Whirlpool Top Load Washer #WTW4850XQ. How do I remove this component?
Jeff for Model Number wtw4850xq
ANSWER Hi Jeff. Remove knob and the hidden screw Lt. of center on the timer shaft. Remove the control back cover. Use a plastic putty knife to slide in under the front lt. and rt. lower control panel end caps. It releases both clips one at a time to hold up and then pull the control panel fwd. 1/2''. Lift up and off from the cabinet top. Place a towel on top of the unit to lay it face down on a towel to protect it. Then use a cell phone camera to picture all electrical connections B/4 removing for proper placement in the future. Use a pen and paper if necessary. Then be careful to not touch the inside of the new board. NOTE= REMOVE BODY STATIC BY GROUNDING YOUR HANDS TO BARE CABINET A FEW TIMES. This removes static and lowers chances of inducing ^ 30,000 volts and ruining the new board. Touch only the outer sides until mounted properly. Make sure all connections are tight. Main control board part # W10480186. Thank You.
