Hello, I bought a used washer and when the wash cycle is completed after the final Spin cycle when it is completed or if I open the lid which I know is when the Brakes are applied to stop the tub the tub continues to spin making the loud knocking sound as the hub drive lock nut is not fully locking in causing it to run around the hub. I have taken apart and the lock nut is worn on the 2 nuts inside left slot edges and the Hub shaft tabs it sets on are also slightly worn on each of the left side of the tabs from running around it. Will a new Drive lock nut lock it in place if the hub slots are worn or do you recommend I also replace the Basket Drive and Brake Assembly as well? Thank you for your Excellent Diagrams, Videos, Parts and Services.
ANSWER Hello Michael,
If the tabs are worn off of the top of the basketdrive assembly 285792 it will ruin the new drive block in a surprisingly short time. It will have to be replaced to correct the issue permanently.
