I am trying to replace the washer basket drive on a Kenmore model 11020902990. I was able to remove the drive block nut but cannot lift out the basket. I tried heating and tapping the area where the basket touches the drive block but that didn't help. Either the basket if frozen to the drive block or there is something else holding it in place. Any ideas? By the way, the videos are very helpful. Thanks.
ANSWER Bill, You can try to apply weight or pressure to one side of the spin basket, to break the tub away from the drive block, but be very careful, you don't want to damage the balance ring on the top of the spin basket. If you can "rock" the tub back and forth a few times, you mat be able to break the drive block loose from the spin tube and lift the assembly(tub and drive block) out of the washer.
