My washer is making a weird noise when i start using it. It makes the noise almost the entire time it is in use (with an exception to the start of the rinse cycle when it is filling and during the spin cycle). The noise sounds some what like metal on metal. Could this be the bearings? There is no leak that I have noticed. If not, what is it?
ANSWER Melissa, It's not the bearings, were they the issue, the noise would be most prevalent during the spin cycle. Your first check should be at the agitator 63235 If it has "stripped " out on the transmission agitator shaft it will make a grinding metal to metal noise when the agitator oscillates and moves the clothed through the water.
