First, I want to thank James for his helpfulness on the phone in determining the part number and price, which is better than Lowe's. He told me the length was 72". I checked the length of my broken belt and it is clearly 75". So I have a question similar to a previous writer's: Can the belt stretch that much before breaking? I see an indication to an alternate, longer belt, but this is my dryer's model number and I don't understand how its belt can be 3" different. So please help me determine which belt to order. Thank you very much.
ANSWER Marc, You are orderring the correct part number 8183101 MPN (8183101). The belt should measure 72" per various notes and information in the APP Parts Information screens " Per Factory Measures 72" (12/2010) ". You're probably receiving the incorrect part. An idler assembly will compensate for some stretch, but not 3 inches, and this dryer doesn't have an idler assembly.
