The new idler wheel does not match the profile of the original. As the picture shows the surface the belt rides is flat, the original has the face stepped down to accommodate the narrow width the drive belt. Will the wider surface cause problems resulting with the belt jumping off the idler?

ANSWER Michael, As long as the belt is correct,(3/8 in wide and five(5) grooves) there will not be an issue with the belt fitting the idler pulley. You do want to check and make sure the original pulley is not distored from an alignment issue due to loose nuts and bolts, and bent or distorted parts. Good Luck and Thanks
