Replaced oven light #74004458. It lasted < 2 sec. At $20 + am not willing to 'try again'. What is problem? What is bulb voltage & wattage?
ANSWER Hi Lorne. As with any electrical device, you will need to work back to the source trying to find a short . A bare wire touching ground (or connection) will cause this. The control board sending a "over voltage" (rarely) but can blow the bulb also. Clock control part # 74009716. You need to carefully inspect and test the bulb socket assy. part # 74009970. If the socket is shorted this will happen also. You will get the globe, socket and the bulbnd wires back to the molex connector. This is not to common of issue. Thank You.
