Hi, I noticed with the drain hose off, water leaks out of the check valve after the fill cycle. The tank water level will be low after the wash cycle and the heating element is still hot. Is this from a defective check valve? Thanks.

ANSWER Hello Bob, The purpose of the check valve is to prevent the sink water from entering the dishwasher. The leak you are describing is going the opposite direction. The water should not leave the dishwasher if the drain line is properly elevated to the bottom of the countertop before connecting to the drain as the installation instructions direct. The issue you described sounds much more like a failing water valve 3384890
