For several years my oven hasnot worked right. My control panel seems to be bad but before I spend 300.00 bucks I need to know if it is the whole control board. I push the bake button and it seems to respond correctly but then when I try to set the temp. I can not get the number read out to stop at the desired temp. It either goes 5 to 10 deg. above or below the desired temp. setting. Then when the burner does lit it will go out or it will take way to long to get up to temp. Then it will release gas when there is no glow in the ignighter. The gas fills the kitchen. WOW!!! What to look for please.

ANSWER Tim, Sounds as if you've got a couple of issues, Before you replace the conmtrol assembly 7601P155-60, carefully remove the control panel buttons (pull straight out) and check and clean the buttons and area. Make sure the buttons move in and out freely, and are not sticking on the glass panel or lens/support. The delayed or intermittent ignition, would most likely be due to a weak glow bar igniter 12400035. You would need to check for the proper amperage draw (3.2 to 3.6 amps, or 3.2 to 3.6 VAC, at the bake burner safety valve, when the igniter is glowing, to varify that, but those would be the places to start and check, at this point. Here's some meter usage help if you need it,[http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html]. Thanks and Good Luck
