How do you replace the clock assembly for a Magic Chef gas range 6498XVB?
ANSWER Hello Vern,
There should be 3 or 4 screws under the control panel above the door. After the power has been turned off to the unit, open the door and remove these screws. There may be a couple of screws on the end and possibly across the top. The main top may need to be raised to access these top screws. Once the screws across the top have been removed the control panel will drop forward and you can access the control board. Four screws hold it in place. Always change the wires one at a time, removing from the old control and onto the new control one at a time to avoid having wires crossed. Assembly will be the reverse of this procedure.
If you have sealed burners, be sure to place them on the counter in sequence as different BTU burners will not work properly in the wrong position. Wearing gloves is always advisable to protect you from injury.
