Can you tell me how to remove the front panel on my maytag range to replace the clock assembly? I beleave it's something in the clock because the light is very dim.
ANSWER Don, to access the control you'll need to raise or remove the cooktop and manifold cover. Here's some help : Unplug the power cord or remove power to the unit,You may want to turn off the gas supply as well. Remove the oven door, remove the grates from the cooktop. Remove the surface burners(turn 90 dgrs. counterclockwise and lift up and out) disconnect and label each wire to each burner and remove and set the burners aside. Remove the four small phillips head screws under the burners that hold the orifice bracket to the underside of the cooktop. Remove the valve knobs from the valve stems(pull the knob straight out). Using a flat blade tool or putty knife, find and release the hold down clips (4 to 5 inches in from the corner) insert the tool in the seam between the msnifold cover and cooktop and press in on the clip, and lift up on the corner of the cooktop and raise the top, you can now prop the top up with a rod, or remove it from the unit. Remove the two screws securing the top of the manifold cover to the frame, and the four screws securing the bottom of the panel to the oven support frame. Grasp panel and pull straight forward slowly and carefully. Roll the panel over and remove the screws that mount the control to the support brackets and remove the control from the panel. Disconnect and label the wires. Reverse the procedure to reinstall the removed parts. Reapply power and gas to the unit and test for operation. Thanks and Good Luck
